Critic: Jason Vigneri-Beane | Arch 601 Studio Fundamentals

The studio explored internal logics of design through iterative model making that sought to establish abstract yet materially contingent formations. As these material explorations become suffused with photo architectural potentials, they also become vehicles for the invention of notational systems. The studio's intent was to develop projects that tackle the resiliency of architecture after a major cataclysm such as the devastating effect of Superstorm Sandy on the Coney Island boardwalk and at the same time, put forward buildings as complexes of architecture and landscape as well as micro urbanism in the process of becoming as opposed to mere solutions to the problem.
